For Honor’s free to play weekend has started today on August 10th

Ubisoft’s competitive soword fighting game For Honor will be free this weekend. Before its big update, Season 3 “Grudge and Glory“, Ubisoft wanted to promote their title. The update, which will add new content like two new heroes: Highlander and Gladiator will go live on August 15th. And of course, other new features will be available for players when the update is out.

To be able to properly introduce the game to new players who have no idea about it, Ubisoft decided to hold this free trial weekend. Those who would like to test it can download and play the game starting today, August 10th. It will go until 12:01 AM PT on August 14 for Xbox One and PS4. As for PC owners, the deadline is 1 PM PT on August 13. More information about the deadlines can be found on the official website. Although it is going to be free, PS4 and Xbox One owners will need a PSN or Xbox Live Gold membership to be able to test the game.

During that time however, all the main content of the game will be available. This includes the main co-op/single player scenario and the hero roster. Moreover, all the progress will be carried over after the purchase. If players decide to do so of course. So you will not lose anything. Also, you can buy the game for 50% less after the free trial event as it will be on sale. And for those who would like to know more about the upcoming update, here is a trailer:

The catch is that you will need to buy the season pass in order to receive heroes on the release date. Otherwise, you will have to wait another week to get them for 15.000 Steel credits.
