A new Silent Hill screen project is reportedly in development with veteran horror producer Roy Lee attached. The project has not been formally announced by Konami or a studio, so its format and production details remain unconfirmed.
The clearest connection comes from a Wall Street Journal profile of Lee, which lists Silent Hill among roughly 20 movies and television shows based on video games that he has in development or production. The same passage also names God of War and Battlefield.
That follows Dread Central’s reporting that the Silent Hill film series is being prepared for a fresh start. Taken together, the reports point to Lee’s involvement in a new adaptation, but neither identifies a writer, director, cast, studio, story, or release window. It is also unclear whether the project would connect to the existing films or begin another continuity.
There is no indication that Zach Cregger is involved. Lee produced Cregger’s Barbarian and Weapons, and Sony Pictures’ official credits list him among the producers of Cregger’s new Resident Evil, which opened in theaters on September 18, 2026. The Journal’s profile says Lee helped assemble that adaptation after asking Cregger which video game he most wanted to tackle.
The reported project would follow Return to Silent Hill, director Christophe Gans’ adaptation of Silent Hill 2, which reached theaters in January 2026. Lee was not involved in that film. Until Konami or a production partner makes an announcement, it is safest to treat the new project as reported rather than confirmed.
The movie news arrives during a wider revival for Konami’s horror series. Konami’s 2022 Silent Hill Transmission introduced multiple projects, including the Silent Hill 2 remake, establishing the broader push to return the franchise to games and other media.
