33-year-old Elliot Page announced that he is transgender on his Instagram account with a post, he said that he pronouns as ‘he/they’ and his name is Elliot.
He stated he feels so ‘lucky’ to be sharing the news with his 3.8 million followers and ‘to have arrived at this place’ in his life. He also expressed an ‘overwhelming gratitude for the incredible people who have supported [him] along this journey’.
He also asked for ‘patience’ from his fans, he expresses his ‘joy’ as ‘real, but it is also fragile’. He points out that he is ‘scared’ of ‘the invasiveness, the hate, the “jokes” and of violence.’, and he also stressed that he is ‘not trying to dampen a moment that is joyous’, although he wanted to ‘address the full picture.’
