PS5 is not coming sooner than at least three years as the head of PlayStation indicated

Sony’s head of PlayStation, John Kodera has recently talked to Wall Street Journal giving many interesting information about the sales and economical situation of the company. However, there was one declaration whic was pretty upsetting for PlayStation fans. The next generation of the console is not likely to be ready before three years from now.

“We will use the next three years to prepare the next step, to crouch down so that we can jump higher in the future,”

As ‘the boss’ indicated, Sony aims to take its time and settle down for a while before they can introduce a new console. This is huge news of course. Most of the time, the next console generation was introduced 6-7 years after the older ones. Which means that we could have expected a new one these days if this announcement was not made by Kodera.

The console is the biggest success of the company with a sale range of 79 millions of units around the globe. Is PS4 going to be powerful enough to support new games in the future? This is the biggest question now. Many ambitious games like Cyberpunk 2077 are on development and the teams behind these kinds of games have already announced that they were developing games for ‘the next generation’. Whether it is PC or console, it is sure that the upcoming games will demand a powerful machine. But of course, a company like Sony would have plans for this. And we will see it in the future.

Stay tuned for more!
