Kingdom Come: Deliverance combat mechanics video is out

Kingdom Come: Deliverance is a medieval RPG which offers many unique features and mechanics. It has been quite a while since the last time we heard from this game. And recently, the devs prepared a video to showcase the combat mechanics with real swords and shields. Is it really going to be that realistic? Well, let’s watch the video and see the enthusiasm of the designers before start an argument. But I should say that thanks to these guys, I have hope:

The main objective of the developer team is to present the medieval life as much as possible. For that, they work hard on imitating the medieval combat. Instead of being an action based ridiculous sweeping and slashing race, the combat system will be based on actual physics. Your targets will have more than 30 spots where you can hit them and deal damage based on their armor. When it comes to the defense, there will be four layered armors. Along with that, you will have to focus on revealing weaknesses of your opponent. You can’t expect to be effective against a full plate armor with your dull short-sword for example.

Other than these features, combat will require many other factors like eating and drinking. Preparation will play a huge role. So, if you start swinging your sword around with an empty stomach, you’ll have a bad time. You will have to keep an eye on your stamina. One another thing: the unarmed combat will be a thing in this game. So you can expect beating up people without killing them. This tells me that the combat system will also effect the questing and relations with other NPCs.

But enough talking, the video tells everything you need and it’s pretty fun to watch. So, sit back and enjoy the video. Oh, and keep it in mind that Kingdom Come: Deliverance will come out (hopefully) on February 13th, 2018.

So, stay tuned for more news before we can enjoy this medieval extravaganza!
