Third-Person Adventure Title by Assassin’s Creed Devs – Ancestors: The Humankind Odyssey

“It’s a third-person adventure game set 10 million years ago.”

Assassin’s Creed creator Patrice Desilets is on our agenda with his unique project, Ancestors: The Humankind Odyssey.

Ancestors: The Humankind Odyssey is the first game of Panache Digital Games. The game is a third-person action/adventure survival title. But the most noteworthy part of Ancestors: The Humankind Odyssey is that the game takes you far back in time.

Ancestors: The Humankind Odyssey let’s you dive into the early story of mankind with a documentary twist. While playing Ancestors, we will be the ones who are creating the story of our own ancestors and by doing this, we will have the possibility of changing what science suggests today.

Evolution Theory is beautiful, yet it is scary for some since it scales down the humankind from the mountain top to the ground and makes us even with all living things. We are not masters, we are not rulers of the universe; we are just simple living things making our way through evolution.

Ancestors: The Humankind Odyssey supposed to be an episodic title, but Panache Digital changed their mind about that.

It’s a third-person adventure game set 10 million years ago, before it was episodic, and that changed the pace, but the content is the same. It’s a bigger game, a bigger world. It was hour to hour; now it’s open and I let the player tell their own stories. There are systems talking to each other, not me taking players by the hand. You’ll create the story of your own ancestors, and maybe it will be different than what science claims.

The trailer stars with a quote from Darwin, the father of Evolution Theory: “We must, however, acknowledge, as it seems to me, that man with all his noble qualities… still bears in his bodily frame the indelible stamp of his lowly origin.”

There are still only limited news about Ancestors: The Humankind Odyssey, but enough to excite us. Stay tuned for more!
