Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice is an upcoming action – hack & slash title from Ninja Theory for PC and PlayStation 4. Senua’s Sacrifice is a noteworthy title since both the story and the gameplay are different from what we’ve experienced until today.

Senua is a charming protagonist without doubt. She is mind-blowing and makes you worried all the time since her mind is dark, twisted and hellish. Senua’s psychotic episodes makes her a really different and hard character to create. She needs to be realistic, her mind and emotional break-downs need to reflect the reality. And when you are in Senua’s condition, you hear voices. Little voices in your head; telling you what to do, telling you what you can’t do, screaming in your ear, whispering. This voices sometimes fade away, sometimes make your brain shake in you skull.

To explore and reflect the mental illness of Senua, developers are working hard. They consulted people who experinced ‘hearing voices’ in their heads and experts in the field of mental health and psychology.

Combining more than one voice is possible by using binaural audio. So they can create a truthful in-game experience and make you go crazy over it.
