Cyanide Studio, which is familiar with their beautiful stealth game Styx: Master of Shadows, is on our agenda again with the news about upcoming Call of Cthulhu game.
I have so many things to say about Cthulhu mythos as an admirer of H.P. Lovecraft’s great mind and imagination which inspires us in so many ways. You have certainly noticed that there are more and more games being developed about Cthulhu mythos but, how many of them can really reflect its true horrors? How many of them will plant the seeds of terror into the depths of our souls?
Call of Cthulhu has risen among these titles. Belive me when I say, this game is made out of fear. And when I say fear, it is the fear Lovecraft fed us before.
I believe horror stories, movies or games make us fear in different ways; some are simple like the monsters under your bed, some are complicated like cancer cells take a form and hunt you down. But when we say Lovecraft, it means pure terror; it sits at the top of your head, overwhelms you, makes you carry it like a heavy burden. It is so pure even the protagonist in the book can’t describe it.
Call of Cthulhu is a RPG-Investigation game, packed with psychological horror and stealth mechanics. One of the most precious things in this game is your sanity, since it is known that Cthulhu can get to your mind. From the time you enter Cthulhu’s sphere of influence, your senses can not be trusted.

Players will control Edward Pierce, a former veteran and private investigator in 1920s Boston. Pierce will be investigating the tragic and mysterious death of Sarah Hawkins and her family in Darkwater Island. The game’s E3 Trailer showcases this disturbing Island and the eerie Hawkins Family Mansion, and gives a glimpse at how the intensity of the investigation will slowly start chipping away at your Sanity.

Call of Cthulhu will hit PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One in 2017. Here is the E3 2016 trailer:
