Xbox Game Pass Adds Gears of War: E-Day, Minecraft Dungeons II and More

Xbox Game Pass is adding Gears of War: E-Day, Minecraft Dungeons II, Dune: Awakening and 10 more games across the second half of September and early October 2026. The new wave spans cloud, Xbox consoles, handheld-optimized versions and PC, with several day-one releases included in the Ultimate and PC Game Pass tiers.

• September 15: RuneScape: Dragonwilds — Ultimate, Premium and PC Game Pass
• September 16: Marvel Cosmic Invasion, Planet of Lana II, Routine and Ultimate Sheep Raccoon — now joining Premium alongside their existing Ultimate and PC availability
• September 17: Kernel Hearts — day one on Ultimate and PC Game Pass; Ninja Gaiden 4 — now joining Premium
• September 22: Dune: Awakening — Ultimate, Premium and PC Game Pass; Well Dweller — day one on Ultimate and PC Game Pass
• September 23: Mad King Redemption — Ultimate, Premium and PC Game Pass
• September 25: Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 — now joining Premium
• September 29: Minecraft Dungeons II — day one on Ultimate and PC Game Pass
• October 2: Keeper — now joining Premium
• October 6: Gears of War: E-Day — day one on Ultimate and PC Game Pass

Gears of War: E-Day is the biggest day-one addition in the wave. The prequel follows Marcus Fenix and Dominic Santiago during the Locust Horde’s first emergence, 14 years before the original Gears of War. Microsoft’s official game page confirms its October 6 launch on Xbox Series X|S and PC, with cloud and handheld access also listed in the Game Pass announcement.

Minecraft Dungeons II arrives a week earlier on September 29. The sequel sends players into the Sift, a new dimension with unfamiliar threats and expanded gear customization. Its release date is also confirmed on the official Minecraft site.

Game Pass Essential addition and departures

Rematch joins Game Pass Essential on September 25 for cloud, Xbox Series X|S and PC. It remains available through Ultimate, Premium and PC Game Pass as well.

Eight games will leave the service on September 30: Atomfall, Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light, Little Nightmares II Enhanced Edition, Little Rocket Lab, Sifu, SOPA: Tale of the Stolen Potato, Sworn and Terminull Brigade. Subscribers can use their membership discount to buy any of those games before they depart.

The update also includes an EA Play trial for EA Sports FC 27 on September 18 and a Brawlhalla in-game benefits pack beginning September 17.
