Xbox Game Pass Adds RuneScape: Dragonwilds and Black Ops Cold War in September

Xbox Game Pass is adding seven games in the first half of September 2026, led by RuneScape: Dragonwilds, Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War, and the day-one launch of SpeedRunners 2: King of Speed. The new wave covers Xbox consoles, PC, cloud gaming, and selected handheld-optimized releases.

Shelldiver opened the lineup on September 1 for cloud, console, and PC through Game Pass Ultimate, Game Pass Premium, and PC Game Pass. The incremental game follows an elderly turtle who catches jellyfish, upgrades equipment, explores new depths, and helps the local turtle population.

Xbox Game Pass September 2026 additions

• September 3 — SpeedRunners 2: King of Speed: A day-one Game Pass release for cloud, Xbox Series X|S, and PC through Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass. The competitive platform-racing sequel supports up to eight players online.
• September 4 — Dice a Million: The roguelike dice-building game joins Game Pass Premium and expands to Xbox Series X|S and cloud, alongside its Ultimate and PC Game Pass availability. It is also designated for handheld play.
• September 8 — Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War: The 2020 campaign, multiplayer, and Zombies release arrives on cloud, console, and PC for Ultimate, Premium, and PC Game Pass members.
• September 10 — The Royal Writ: A medieval roguelike deck builder built around deploying—and sometimes permanently sacrificing—units joins cloud, Xbox Series X|S, handheld, and PC.
• September 10 — Virtua Fighter 5 R.E.V.O. World Stage: Sega’s fighter comes to cloud, Xbox Series X|S, and PC with cross-play, rollback netcode, training tools, and the single-player World Stage mode.
• September 15 — RuneScape: Dragonwilds: Jagex’s cooperative survival game arrives on cloud, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. Players gather resources, build, craft, and develop skills while preparing to confront the Dragon Queen on Ashenfall.

Updates, perks, and games leaving

TCG Card Shop Simulator will leave Game Preview and reach version 1.0 on September 15 for cloud, Xbox Series X|S, handheld, and PC. The full release adds the playable Tetramon card game, deck building, and hosted tournaments to its shop-management systems.

Game Pass Ultimate members will also receive a 10-hour EA Play trial for EA Sports NHL 27 on console beginning September 4. On September 16, Game Pass subscribers can claim a monthly Aniimo reward pack containing one Aniipod Ultra, 15 Growth Flowers, and 300 Glimmer.

Ten games are scheduled to leave Game Pass on September 15: Commandos: Origins, Cricket 24, Cyberpunk 2077, Dead Cells, Deep Rock Galactic Survivor, Frostpunk 2, Mullet Madjack, Spiritfarer, Superliminal, and Train Sim World 5.
