Microsoft and T-Mobile will make Xbox Game Pass a selectable benefit for eligible U.S. customers when T-Mobile’s new T-Mix wireless plans become available in November. Eligible customers will be able to choose Xbox Game Pass Ultimate or Xbox Game Pass Premium through the plans’ included Picks system; this is not a blanket free subscription for every T-Mobile customer.
Xbox Wire announced the partnership on October 26 and said it will be the first time Xbox Game Pass has been offered through a U.S. wireless plan. Microsoft says both available tiers provide access to a game library across supported devices, including Xbox consoles, PCs and compatible smart TVs.
How the T-Mobile Game Pass benefit works
T-Mobile’s T-Mix lineup consists of Standard, More and Loaded plans. According to T-Mobile’s official announcement, Standard starts at $55 per month for one line with one Pick, More starts at $75 with two Picks, and Loaded starts at $95 with three Picks. Those prices require AutoPay and do not include taxes and fees. Discounted T-Mix options will also be available for customers aged 55 and older, military members and veterans, first responders, and college students.
Picks are credits that customers assign to benefits included with their T-Mix plan. Xbox Game Pass joins a menu that also covers streaming, music, food delivery, wireless features and device promotions. Higher-tier plans and additional lines provide more Picks, but the announcements do not specify how many Picks each Game Pass tier requires or assign Ultimate and Premium to particular T-Mix plans.
T-Mobile says customers can change partner benefits during three quarterly change windows and an annual reselection window, allowing four opportunities per year to remix those selections. The timing can vary by benefit, and changing a partner benefit outside an approved window may carry a fee. Unused Picks do not roll into the next quarter, cannot be exchanged for cash, and are not refundable.
Customers must keep an eligible T-Mix account in good standing to use Picks. T-Mobile also warns that account changes can alter the number of Picks available and may affect active benefits. Anyone who already pays for Game Pass should manage that existing subscription as needed to avoid duplicate charges when selecting the T-Mix benefit.
