Bethesda Game Studios has officially revealed The Elder Scrolls VI: Sentinel as the title of its long-awaited next Elder Scrolls game. The name appeared in the studio’s 40th-anniversary video, replacing years of speculation surrounding the project announced in 2018.
The reveal includes an in-universe passage attributed to Yazar, a Moth Priest writing to High Queen Iradne of Hammerfell in 4E 206. The text refers to a shimmer or veil, a future lost, a victory undone and the sands of time, giving fans their first official story clues without explaining how those ideas connect.
The Hammerfell reference strengthens the region’s importance to the reveal, but Bethesda has not yet confirmed the game’s complete setting or map. RPG Site’s report also notes the lore details while treating them separately from a formal setting announcement.
We previously reported that the Sentinel subtitle was circulating ahead of a possible November reveal. Bethesda’s anniversary video now confirms the title itself, but the studio has not announced a release date or platforms.
What do you think the Sentinel subtitle and Hammerfell reference mean for the next Elder Scrolls story?
