Sony CFO Hiroki Totoki has provided new details on Bungie’s restructuring, emphasizing “cost restructure and portfolio optimization.” Bungie’s back-office functions will be integrated into Sony Interactive Entertainment and resources will be concentrated on Destiny 2 and the upcoming live-service title, Marathon. The restructuring, which resulted in layoffs affecting over 200 Bungie employees, aims to optimize the overall studio structure. Despite these changes, the plans for Destiny 2’s upcoming content remain on track.
