Kinetic Games has released Phasmophobia update 0.19.0.0, the second part of its 2026 Quality of Life overhaul. The patch adds smaller Restricted versions of three large maps, improves evidence tracking and team coordination, updates the VR character rig, and makes several changes to player deaths.
The new Restricted layouts cover Prison, Brownstone High School, and Point Hope. Like Sunny Meadows Restricted, each option condenses a larger location into a smaller investigation area, giving groups faster runs without removing those maps’ themes.
According to Kinetic Games’ official Quality of Life Part 2 patch notes, Photo Cameras, Video Cameras, and Sound Recorders now indicate when evidence has already been logged. Depending on the equipment tier, duplicate evidence is identified through a yellow LED, faded text, dimmed volume indicators, or faded sound waves.
The Journal now displays evidence and ghost-type selections made by other players, reducing the need to manually compare notes before ending an investigation. Its old Keys section has also become “Items We’ve Found,” covering keys, bones, and seasonal collectibles.
VR players receive a more accurate and responsive character rig alongside fixes for door interactions, hand animations, teleport locomotion, tripods, and other community-reported problems. Death presentation has been revised as well: dead players and bodies now look visibly deceased, while voice chat cuts out during the death animation instead of waiting until it finishes.
Eurogamer reports that the update is live on PC and PlayStation, with the Xbox version to follow. Kinetic Games also lists several known issues, including inaccessible bone or fuse-box spawns on certain Restricted layouts and a selection of remaining VR bugs.
Phasmophobia has continued to change substantially throughout its long-running development; GNP covered one of the game’s earlier major updates, which similarly focused on making hunts more unpredictable and responsive.
