Rockstar Games has confirmed that Grand Theft Auto VI pre-loading begins on November 10, 2026, nine days before the game launches on November 19. The download can require up to 212 GB of free storage, depending on platform.
According to Rockstar’s official GTA VI pre-load FAQ, PlayStation 5 players can start downloading at midnight local time on November 10. Xbox Series X|S pre-loading begins at 12:00 a.m. GMT on the same date.
The 212 GB figure is an upper limit rather than a guaranteed download size for every player. Available storage requirements may vary with platform files and updates, but console owners should make room well before launch if their drives are nearly full.
Our previous coverage discussed a reported 210 GB PlayStation 5 requirement and an earlier November 12 pre-load date. Rockstar’s November 3 support update is now the authoritative information and supersedes that earlier timing.
Pre-loading does not provide early access. The game remains scheduled to unlock on November 19, with launch timing governed by Rockstar’s release schedule.
