Rockstar has not announced a specific digital unlock time for launch day. Any countdowns or time-zone schedules circulating elsewhere should be treated as estimates unless Rockstar or the console stores publish an official schedule.

Which platforms will GTA 6 be on?

GTA 6 is officially confirmed for:

The official PlayStation page also identifies the game as PS5 Pro Enhanced. Rockstar has not announced versions for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, or Nintendo Switch 2. PlayStation explicitly states that GTA 6 will not be available on PS4.

Is GTA 6 coming to PC?

The upgrade also opens special destinations and customization businesses: Rideout Customs Mod Shop, Sara’s Unisex Salon, Stock 305 Clothing Store, Electric Fang Tattoo Parlor, and One-Eyed Willie’s Mod Shop. Some rewards are tied to progression and appear later in the story; Rockstar has not described these extras as a separate expansion.

GTA 6 pre-orders and bonuses

GTA 6 pre-orders opened globally on June 25, 2026. According to Rockstar’s official preorder announcement, all pre-orders and purchases made before November 20 include the Vintage Vice City Pack. The pack contains a ’55 Vapid Stanier sedan and garage, outfits and hairstyles for Jason and Lucia, and an exclusive weapon pattern.

Digital pre-orders also include one month of GTA+ at no additional cost, subject to platform eligibility and redemption terms. GTA+ is a recurring subscription, so players who redeem the offer should review the renewal details shown by their console store.

When can you preload GTA 6?

Preloading begins November 12, 2026, seven days before launch, for digital pre-orders. Rockstar also plans a physical Standard Edition package that becomes available November 12, but it contains a download code rather than a game disc. The code-in-box format is intended to let physical buyers download the game before release.

Who are Jason and Lucia?

GTA 6 centers on Jason Duval and Lucia Caminos, two criminals whose relationship is at the heart of the story. Rockstar’s premise says an apparently easy score goes wrong and pulls them into a criminal conspiracy stretching across Leonida, forcing them to rely on each other to survive.

Rockstar’s official characters and locations page explains that Jason grew up around criminals, served in the Army, and later worked for drug runners in the Leonida Keys. Lucia learned to fight from her father, served time in Leonida Penitentiary, and is determined to build the better life her mother once imagined for the family.

The confirmed supporting cast includes Jason’s friend Cal Hampton; Vice City businessman Boobie Ike; music entrepreneur Dre’Quan Priest; rap duo Real Dimez; bank robber Raul Bautista; and veteran smuggler Brian Heder. Rockstar has shown how these characters connect to the criminal world around Jason and Lucia, but it has not published a complete cast list.

Where is GTA 6 set?

GTA 6 returns to a modern-day Vice City and expands beyond it into the fictional state of Leonida. The setting draws on Florida’s cities, beaches, islands, wetlands, highways, nightlife, and social-media culture, but Rockstar’s world and characters are fictional.

Rockstar has officially named six major areas:

• Vice City – the neon-lit urban center, with beaches, clubs, neighborhoods, luxury towers, and criminal businesses.
• Leonida Keys – the island chain where Jason works for local drug runners.

Rockstar has not released a complete in-game map, official dimensions, or a comparison of Leonida’s playable area against GTA 5. Fan-created maps and size estimates may be interesting reconstructions, but they are not official.

What has Rockstar confirmed about GTA 6 gameplay?

Rockstar’s trailers and August 2026 Extended Look show a single-player, third-person open-world action game built around Jason and Lucia. The official footage includes driving, robberies, shootouts, police pursuits, close-quarters fights, boats and aircraft, nightlife, social-media parody, and activities spread across Vice City and the wider state.

The footage depicts players moving between Jason and Lucia, including situations where one drives while the other fights, but Rockstar has not yet documented every rule or limitation of the switching system.

Other activities visible in official footage include street and dirt-bike racing, car meets, basketball, outdoor exercise, kayaking, diving, jet skis, fan boats, parachuting, target practice, stores, clubs, and parties. Because Rockstar’s presentations blend direct play, cinematic camera work, cutscenes, and mission-specific moments, a scene in a trailer should not automatically be interpreted as a freely repeatable open-world mechanic.

GTA 6 trailers and official gameplay footage

Rockstar has released three major official videos. The newest is Grand Theft Auto VI: An Extended Look, published August 27, 2026 and captured entirely from in-game footage on PlayStation 5.

Trailer 2 arrived on May 6, 2025. Rockstar says it was captured entirely in-game on a PlayStation 5 and is made up of equal parts gameplay and cutscenes. It established Jason and Lucia’s partnership, expanded the story premise, and revealed more of Leonida’s cast and locations.

Trailer 1 debuted on December 4, 2023, introducing Lucia, Vice City, Leonida’s social-media satire, crowded beaches, nightlife, wildlife, and the central criminal partnership. It remains available through Rockstar’s official GTA 6 media page.

Will GTA 6 have multiplayer or GTA Online?

Rockstar and the console storefronts describe GTA 6 as a single-player experience. Rockstar has not announced a GTA 6 multiplayer mode, a new version of GTA Online, a launch date for any online component, or whether progress from the existing GTA Online will carry over.

The free month of GTA+ offered with eligible digital pre-orders is a subscription promotion. It is not confirmation that GTA 6 includes GTA Online at launch.
