Reports Show that GTA VI will have A Playable Female Character and Map that will Expand over Time

According to reports, Grand Theft Auto 6 will feature a playable female character, making it the first GTA title to have one since the first game in the franchise. In the report, it is also said that the map of the game will expand through post-launch updates.

Bloomberg‘s report shows that this character will be Latina, and she will be part of a bank robber pair that features a story influenced by real-life outlaws Bonnie and Clyde. The report also indicates that the game’s map in the launch will consist of a fictionalized version of Miami and its surrounding areas. This will not go on like this forever, though, as new sections of the map will be added with updates. The launch version alone is said to be the one with the most interiors in any GTA title map from before.

According to sources, there were planned maps of huge zones of North and South America, which gave the project its codename Project Americas. But these plans were later scrapped in order to reduce the crunch for employees. This is probably an act made to not go over the same employee controversy Rockstar had in recent years.

As for release dates, there are many opinions on that matter but it is a general opinion that the game will take at least 2 years to release. There are many factors in the process of development such as bottlenecks and changes in management to this, so we can’t be sure of a specific date for release. But from the looks of it, Rockstar definitely does not want to mess this up as they have postponed/canceled the planned remakes of GTA IV and Red Dead Redemption.
