DICE Head of Design Leaves Company After The Launch of Battlefield 2042

DICE’s Head of Design Fawzi Mesmar, who worked on Battlefield and Star Wars: Battlefront franchises, has left the company following Battlefield 2042 launch. The report comes from VGC.

As reported, the departure of Fawzi was done through an e-mail to DICE staff. Turns out, he has been planning this for a while, so he already made up his mind way before the release of Battlefield 2042. He was in the position of Head of Design since 2019 and had experience as King’s studio director, developer of Candy Crush, way before that.

“It was an absolute pleasure to serve on the best design teams in the galaxy,” he wrote, “The incredible design work that you do continues to inspire me every day. Thank you for putting some faith in me, I hope I didn’t disappoint.”

“I have been made an offer I couldn’t refuse at another company that has been kind enough to wait for me until we have shipped [Implying Battlefield 2042]. It was super important to me to be here with the team as we achieve this historical milestone.”

Fawzi left the company on the 26th of November, and although unknown position, he will be still working in Stockholm, Sweden.
