Horizon: Forbidden West Won’t Offer An Option to Upgrade from PS4

Know what you’re getting with your preferred Horizon: Forbidden West edition, because you won’t be able to upgrade your PS4 copy to a PS5 one from standard or special edition, you also can’t upgrade to an edition that includes a PS5 copy of the game.

There are PS4 and PS5 versions of Horizon: Forbidden West and you’ll be able to play the PS4 version on a PS5, it’s just that you won’t get to see the visual and performance enhancements. When looked into the FAQ page of the game, it is seen that you won’t be getting both versions of the game in the standard and special editions.

There are different approaches from different titles to the PS4-PS5 editions of their games, and in my opinion, Horizon: Forbidden West’s approach on the matter is my least favorite. We will see the results of this policy when the game releases in February 2022.
