The release of Cyberpunk 2077 on PC was pretty bad like on consoles, but it wasn’t a serious mess that would have to be removed from any showcase front. A little over a week after its release and after gamers had time to really sink their teeth, a very serious PC-specific bug popped up suddenly. Cyberpunk 2077 was irreversibly corrupting files that had grown over 8MB in size.
CD Projekt’s initial answer was to go back to an earlier record and avoid overfilling your inventory with items and crafting materials, possibly bloating file sizes. Interestingly, he made no promises about the fix and only said that the file save size limit could be increased in one of the future patches.
Fortunately, the 1.06 fix released today actually solves this problem and the 8MB file size limit has disappeared. Unfortunately, for anyone who comes across it, fixing will not fix corrupted entries.
