Cyberpunk 2077 Update 2.5 will launch as a free update on October 22, 2026, for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. Officially called the Edgerunners 2 Update, it will add content inspired by Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2 alongside new items and gameplay features. The Nintendo Switch 2 version will follow shortly, but CD Projekt Red has not announced an exact date for that platform.
What Cyberpunk 2077 Update 2.5 adds
CD Projekt Red has confirmed two of the update’s headline features ahead of the full reveal: cyberware customization and a new dual-wielding playstyle. The studio has also promised additional items and features, but it has not yet published a complete list.
That means details such as the available weapon combinations, balance changes, performance improvements, and platform-specific fixes remain unconfirmed for now. Those specifics should become clearer when the official patch notes arrive.
REDstreams and patch notes are set for October 21
A special REDstreams episode will air on October 21 at 5 PM CEST on Twitch, YouTube, and Steam. CD Projekt Red says the broadcast will provide a closer look at Update 2.5 and its new features. The official patch notes are also scheduled for October 21, following the presentation.
The update was announced alongside the Netflix premiere of Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2 on October 20. According to CD Projekt Red’s official press release, all 10 episodes are available now. The new season was created by CD Projekt Red and animation studio TRIGGER and tells a standalone story with a new cast in Night City.
Update 2.5’s launch timing is firm for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S, while Nintendo Switch 2 players will need to wait for the separate release date. CD Projekt Red has not provided any additional timing beyond saying that version will follow shortly.
