Far Cry 5 features a level editor which lets you create and share maps

Previously, Far Cry 5 shared a live-action trailer called as Baptism which shows us the true colors of Joseph Seed. With every news, Far Cry 5 is raising the bar for us even higher.

Far Cry 5 will be the eleventh installment and the fifth main title in the Far Cry series. The game will tell the story of a preacher named Joseph Seed who believes that he has been chosen to protect the people of Hope County from an “inevitable collapse” and establishes Eden’s Gate. Yet, Eden’s Gate is a militaristic doomsday cult and Seed is a crazy bastard. As sheriff’s deputy, we are to shake Seed out of this madness.

According to the recent news from Ubisoft, Far Cry 5 will feature a level editor called Far Cry Arcade which will let us create and share custom maps.

We’ve really pushed hard this time to make it a much more integral part of the Far Cry experience, and to really give it its own identity. We’re going to make sure it’s more visible than ever. Not just in our menus, but in the campaign itself. We’re going to put arcade booths all around our campaign world in places where it makes sense. And then on top of that, there will be posters all over the game world, which will be simple portals to quick-launch you into our best featured maps.

We will be able take a look at latest user-created levels through arcade machines in a bar. We will be able to create solo, co-op, and PvP levels.

The critical thing for us is to make sure that the time players spend in Far Cry Arcade is equally as valued to them as the time that would be spent in the campaign. So we have a shared progression system to do that. All the rewards that you would normally earn in the campaign – money, items, weapons, vehicles, and so on – all of these are equally available to you in Far Cry Arcade, and vice versa. It’s one profile; you take it back and forth between the game modes exactly as you’d like, whenever you like. Your time is equally valued wherever you spend it.

New game modes will also come with Far Cry Arcade: Bounty Hunt and Journey. Far Cry Arcade will feature 7000 objects and assets from Far Cry 4, Far Cry Primal, even Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag, Assassin’s Creed Unity, and Watch Dogs.

Far Cry 5 will hit PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on March 27. Stay tuned for more!
