After a couple of weeks of testing, Hunt: Showdown alpha testing is over and now, it is available on Steam as an Early Access game. During this time Crytek worked so hard on feedbacks they gathered and they have improved the game drastically. Today, early in the morning, the game left its alpha status and went into Steam Early Access. I personally thank Crytek for their good job and being a gamer friendly – attentive developer. Yet, the work is not done. The game will stay on Early Access for we don’t know how long and they will continue polishing the game with the help of you fellow hunters. Still, if you like co-op competitive games, this game will impress you no matter what, believe me.
We had covered a first impressions article about Hunt: Showdown recently. And we have covered the basics of the game. As a person who loves competitive play (especially in a good and friendly environment) I strongly suggest checking out the Steam page and hit that Buy button if you are interested. Unfortunately, the game is only available for PC, at least for now. We will see what happens in the future.
We want to take this opportunity to thank everybody who participated in Closed Alpha testing, It was essential for us in our continuing developments, and we are grateful to have such a dedicated community this early in the game.

If you were not lucky to be able to test it yourselves, more information can be found on our article here. Also, I strongly recommend checking out the official website of the game as it is one of the best ones that I’ve ever seen.
And here is a quick summary of the game for those who would like to have a quick idea:
About Hunt: Showdown
Hunt: Showdown is a competitive first-person bounty hunting game with heavy PvE elements, from the makers of Crysis. Set in the darkest corners of the world, it packs the thrill of survival games into a match-based format. Hunt’s competitive, match-based gameplay mixes PvP and PvE elements to create a uniquely tense experience. At the beginning of each match, up to five teams of two set out to track monstrous targets. Once they’ve found and defeated one of these they will receive a bounty—and instantly become a target for every other Hunter left on the map. The higher the risk, the higher the reward–but a single mistake could cost everything.
As a highly anticipated game, Hunt: Showdown surely exceeded the expectations of many, including myself. They still have work to do of course. And as Hunt: Showdown Creative Director Magnus Larbrant said: “With Hunt, we wanted to make the game that we, as gamers, have always wanted to play ourselves: tense, dark, addictive, terrifying—a real adrenaline-pumping experience. We have the foundations laid out, and now with the support and input of the community during Early Access, we can polish that experience together.”
