A Total War Saga Announcement From SEGA and Creative Assembly

So recently, SEGA and Creative Assembly announced that they are working on a new project: A Total War Saga. This, according to the devs, will be more than one game which will be standalone spin-off titles about the milestones and important moments in human history.

Instead of empires and kingdoms, these games will focus on the important names like Attila or Napoleon as Jack Lusted said in an interview. And he indicated that the games will be, like always, a mixture of “turn-based campaign strategy” and “real-time battle tactics.”

What’s the difference then?

These games, apparently will not be new titles introducing new eras. However, each of them will still be a Total War Game. What is the main difference is not the core game. But the focus point of the story. “In terms of core gameplay, it’s not. If you’ve enjoyed previous games, you’ll certainly be interested in Total War Saga games. It’s more about focus.” says Jack Lusted and adds: “There might be as many playable factions or conquerable territories in them, but that could all be focussed down to one specific region or country and a particular point in time.”

He compares these projects with older titles like Fall of the Samurai and Total War: SHOGUN 2. So, if you liked these games you’ll probably enjoy these too. We would like to see what will happen and we expect to hear more from that project.

Until then, stay tuned fellas!
