It’s Happening! A Borderlands Movie is Coming!

Here we are again with great news about Borderlands! Lately, we had the pleasure to inform you that the Gearbox‘s next game will be Borderlands 3 and now, I am hopefully giving you as great news as the previous one. The Borderlands movie is happening! (Screams internally)

It was actually announced in 2015 but since we heard little about it. Borderlands movie will be based on Gearbox Software’s first-person shooter game launced in 2009 and it will be set on Pandora. Aaron Berg will be penning the script while Arad Productions is behind the production. It is said that movie will be ‘edgy, R-rated take‘ and honestly, I can’t expect less.

Some say it is Mad Max in space and I am assuming it is an accurute description of what we will see on the screen. We can’t deny that Borderlands and Mad Max have a lot in common, even I was excited to see Mad Max for its similarity to Borderlands. When it was first announced Arads said that Borderlands has a unique story-driven narrative energy and rich multi-dimensional characters that position it to become a singular motion picture event.

I am more emotional than excited about this since we all know, movie adaptations aren’t always as charming as the games or books. I spent half of my life playing Borderlands and had tremendous time playing it. If it is not going to be as good as the game, my heart shall break. Also, I am eager to see a Claptrap torture scene, if it is possible.

We will be back with news. Untill then, let Krieg be.

Over here, my sweet meats, your prince of justice and genocide has something to say: Gone are the days of the tentacle and the age of the gods and mercy is far away… We are fighters of the middle, the second act in the three-part MEAT play, AND I WILL WIN BEST SUPPORTING ACTOR!
