After Diablo 2, Warcraft 3 Now Has A New Patch

Last week, Diablo 2 suprised us with a new patch, 1,14a, coming out 5 years later from the last patch. Now following its footsteps, Warcraft 3 is back on the stage with a new patch.

Patch 1.27a is live now and it has the same purpose as Diablo 2 patch: making Warcraft 3 run flawlessly on modern platforms. Thanks to Blizzard, this games will not be lost in time.

Today we will be deploying 1.27a for Warcraft III. As with Diablo II, this patch focuses on modern system compatibility. It’s exciting to bring some additional support to another core Blizzard game, and we thank you for your encouragement and patience as we continue working behind the scenes on these types of updates.

You can check the changes below:

  • Throw away that old PowerPC Mac in the closet, we’ve created a new installer to support Mac 10.10 and 10.11
  • Improved compatibility with Windows 7, 8.1, and 10
  • Fixed a crash caused by Chain Lightning
Blizzard wants us to know that more modern system compatibility patches are on the way but not for Warcraft 3. There is no information about the next title yet but we will share it with you as soon as we hear it.
