Star Wars Jedi 3 Is “Far in Development” and Could Be Announced Soon, Schreier Says

Respawn Entertainment’s third Star Wars Jedi game is “far in development” and should receive an official announcement soon, according to Bloomberg reporter Jason Schreier.

Schreier made the comments while answering questions about his reporting on EA’s new Star Wars plans. He said the Jedi sequel is much further along than the reported Star Wars Battlefront 3 project and added in a separate reply that the game “should be officially announced soon.”

The game’s existence is not a rumor. Electronic Arts has confirmed that Respawn is developing the next Star Wars Jedi game, described as the final chapter of the current story involving Cal Kestis. The new information is Schreier’s assessment of its development progress and the expectation of a near-term announcement.

EA has not revealed the game’s official title, release date, release window or platforms. Claims tying it to a 2027 launch or a specific reveal event remain unconfirmed, and Schreier did not provide a date for the announcement.

The project follows Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order and Star Wars Jedi: Survivor. When EA first confirmed the next chapter, we reported that Respawn was continuing the series, but the publisher stopped short of presenting a title or footage.

Schreier’s update also distinguishes the Jedi project from the other reported Star Wars game involving Respawn. EA has confirmed that Respawn and DICE are collaborating on a future shooter, while reporting has identified it as Star Wars Battlefront 3. According to Schreier, that project has not begun development, while the Jedi finale is already well advanced.

What would you want to see from the final chapter of Cal Kestis’s story?
