Rocket Racing will be removed from Fortnite in October 2026, while Call of Duty: Warzone support on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One will end when Modern Warfare 4 Season 1 begins. The two service changes affect players differently: Rocket Racing is being removed from Fortnite across every platform where it is available, while Warzone support is ending specifically on PS4 and Xbox One.
Pure Xbox reports that Rocket Racing will be removed from Fortnite on October 1. Epic’s public support page confirms the broader October 2026 removal window, while Activision has not yet published a fixed calendar date for the end of last-generation Warzone support.
Rocket Racing Is Leaving Fortnite in October
Epic Games says Rocket Racing will be removed from Fortnite in October 2026. The removal also covers every user-created Fortnite island built with Rocket Racing templates. Rocket Racing quests are already unavailable.
The removal is not limited to Xbox One or Xbox Series X|S. Because Rocket Racing is an experience inside Fortnite, its removal applies across the platforms where the mode is currently available.
Players will keep their customized cars. Epic says the Vehicle Locker is not affected, so vehicle cosmetics can continue to be used elsewhere in Fortnite after the dedicated racing mode and its template-based islands disappear.
Rocket Racing launched inside Fortnite in December 2023 as an arcade racing experience developed by Psyonix. Its removal means the mode itself will no longer be playable, rather than merely losing ranked competition or future content updates.
Warzone Support Is Ending on PS4 and Xbox One
Call of Duty: Warzone is following a separate schedule. According to Activision’s official platform update, Warzone will remain playable on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One through the end of Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 Season 06. Support will end on both consoles when Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 Season 1 begins.
Activision started reducing last-generation services on June 4, when Warzone was removed from the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One digital storefronts and new downloads stopped. The in-game store followed on June 25. Players who already had Warzone in their platform library could continue installing and playing it through the end of Season 06.
This is not a full Warzone shutdown. The game will continue on Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch 2, and supported PC platforms. Will Warzone Progress Carry Over?
Yes, provided players use the same linked Activision account on a supported platform. Activision says full progression and content bought with COD Points will carry over. Unspent COD Points are tied to the platform account, so an Xbox One balance can be accessed on a current-generation Xbox console and a PS4 balance on a PS5 when using the same account. Some content bought with local currency follows the same console-family restriction.
