Xbox accounted for an estimated 8.6% of Resident Evil Requiem sales measured across Xbox, PlayStation 5 and Steam, according to new third-party analysis. The figures come from Alinea Analytics and were reported by IGN; they are estimates, not platform data confirmed by Capcom, Microsoft, Sony or Valve.

Alinea estimates that Resident Evil Requiem has sold 8.5 million copies across the three measured platform groups and generated more than $500 million in revenue. Its reported split assigns 48.1% of sales to PlayStation 5, 43.4% to Steam and 8.6% to Xbox.

The breakdown does not include Nintendo Switch 2, even though Capcom released Resident Evil Requiem on that system alongside PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC on February 27, 2026. The 8.6% figure therefore describes Xbox’s share of Alinea’s measured PS5, Steam and Xbox total, not necessarily its share of every copy sold on all platforms.

Capcom’s latest public figure is more conservative. In its financial reporting for the quarter ended June 30, 2026, the publisher said Resident Evil Requiem had surpassed 8 million units worldwide. Capcom has not published a platform-by-platform sales split, so Alinea’s newer 8.5 million estimate cannot be independently matched to official figures.

What do you think best explains the estimated gap between Resident Evil Requiem sales on Xbox and PlayStation 5?
