Sony Interactive Entertainment has delayed the PlayStation Pulse Elevate wireless speakers after identifying a production issue during ongoing quality testing. The speakers were scheduled to launch on November 12, 2026, but that date no longer applies, and Sony has not announced a replacement release date.
In its official November 6 launch update, Sony said it needs additional time to ensure the product meets its intended standard. The company did not describe the production issue or provide revised launch timing.
The November 12 launch date is no longer valid
Sony had announced in August that Pulse Elevate would launch starting November 12, with a recommended US retail price of $219.99. The November 6 notice supersedes that release date. Sony did not announce a price change in the delay update, but it also did not provide a new availability schedule.
For now, the only confirmed change is the delay. The nature of the production issue and the speakers’ new release date remain unknown.
What the Pulse Elevate speakers offer
First revealed in Sony’s original September 2025 announcement, Pulse Elevate is the first wireless speaker system developed by Sony Interactive Entertainment. It is designed for desktop use with PS5, PC, and Mac, while its rechargeable batteries also support portable use with PlayStation Portal and Bluetooth-enabled mobile devices.
Each speaker uses a planar magnetic driver and a built-in woofer. On PS5, supported games can also use Tempest 3D AudioTech with the speakers. The right speaker includes a microphone with noise-rejection technology for voice chat.
Pulse Elevate connects through PlayStation Link for low-latency, lossless wireless audio on compatible devices and includes a USB-C PlayStation Link adapter. Bluetooth support allows audio from a second device at the same time, while the included charging docks are intended to return the speakers to a desktop setup. Sony previously announced Midnight Black and White color options.
What remains unknown
Sony has not identified the specific production fault, set a replacement launch date, or shared a revised availability timeline. Until the company issues another official update, November 12 should not be treated as the product’s release date.
