Nearly two minutes of unconfirmed footage that appears to show a remake of the original Persona has surfaced online. VGC reports that the video was posted without warning by a newly created YouTube account and includes exploration, combat, and dialogue.
The presentation resembles Atlus’s modern Persona remakes, with a revised interface and reportedly remixed music from the 1996 game. However, the footage also shows Persona 2 protagonist Tatsuya among the party, an unusual detail that makes the video’s exact purpose harder to determine.
The material could be footage from a game in development, an internal pitch or proof of concept, or something else entirely. PC Gamer also noted that the video’s length and consistency have prompted discussion about its authenticity, but AI-generated or otherwise fabricated footage cannot be ruled out.
Atlus and Sega have not announced a Persona 1 remake. Persona series producer Kazuhisa Wada has previously expressed interest in revisiting Persona and Persona 2, but those comments do not confirm that either project is in production.
Does the leaked footage look convincing to you, or are you waiting for an official Atlus reveal?
