Ghost of Yōtei has generated an estimated $407 million from about 5.4 million copies sold, putting it close to Ghost of Tsushima’s estimated $418 million at the same launch-aligned point despite a much lower unit total.
The figures come from Alinea Analytics’ October 16 market analysis. The firm estimates that Ghost of Tsushima had sold nearly 7 million copies at the comparable stage, about 1.6 million more than Ghost of Yōtei, while producing only about 3% more revenue.
These are third-party estimates, not sales or revenue figures confirmed by Sony. Alinea describes the $407 million figure as revenue from copies sold alone. Its report does not provide a regional breakdown or an exact elapsed-day count for the comparison, referring only to the same launch-aligned point in each game’s lifecycle.
Pricing helps explain the narrower revenue gap
Alinea attributes much of the difference between unit sales and revenue to pricing. Ghost of Yōtei launched at $70 and, according to the firm, had received only two two-week discounts to $50 by the time of the analysis. Ghost of Tsushima launched at $60 and had already been discounted to $45 less than three months after release.
On that basis, Alinea calculates that Ghost of Yōtei generated about 26% more revenue per buyer. The firm also estimates that 36.8% of Yōtei’s sales were physical copies.
The size of the available console audience also differed. Alinea says there were roughly 117 million PS4 consoles and 10 million PS5 consoles in the market at the comparable point for Ghost of Tsushima. Ghost of Yōtei, meanwhile, was available only on PS5, with nearly 100 million consoles in circulation by the time of the report.
The newer game added an estimated 1.8 million sales and $121 million in copy revenue during 2026, although Alinea said its revenue curve had started to flatten more sharply than Ghost of Tsushima’s. That keeps the long-term outcome open even as the current comparison shows how higher pricing can narrow a large unit-sales gap.

Does Ghost of Yōtei’s higher estimated revenue per buyer matter more to you than the gap in copies sold?
