Demon’s Souls Remake Hits 120 FPS on PC Through PS5 Emulation

The 2020 Demon’s Souls remake has been shown running on a PC through the unofficial KytyPS5 PlayStation 5 emulation project, reaching up to 120 frames per second with DLSS Frame Generation. This is not an official PC port, and Sony has not announced one.

PC Gamer highlighted the demonstration from Geralt Benchmarks, which used an Nvidia GeForce RTX 5070 and AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D.

What the 120 FPS figure represents

The footage shows the remake climbing above 100 FPS at 1440p with two-times DLSS Frame Generation, then approaching 120 FPS at 1080p. With settings closer to the PS5’s performance mode and without treating generated frames as native rendering, the test sometimes rises above 70 FPS.

That distinction matters: Frame Generation inserts AI-created frames between conventionally rendered ones, so the headline number does not mean KytyPS5 is natively rendering the game at a locked 120 FPS. The demonstration also shows hitching, and one hardware test does not establish that the entire game is stable or fully compatible on the public emulator build.

Bluepoint Games’ remake remains officially available only on PlayStation 5. The test instead illustrates how quickly experimental PS5 emulation is progressing on high-end PC hardware.

Would you try the remake through emulation once compatibility is mature, or would you rather wait for an official PC version?
