Bill Skarsgård will play the lead role in PHYSINT, Kojima Productions’ upcoming action-espionage game. Hideo Kojima announced the casting during the Xbox Tokyo Game Show 2026 broadcast on September 17.
The official Xbox Wire announcement also revealed a new poster featuring Skarsgård alongside Charlee Fraser. Kojima personally photographed the pair for the artwork after costume fittings, scans, and camera tests conducted earlier this year.
Skarsgård, known for playing Pennywise in It and It: Chapter Two, joins a cast that already includes Fraser, Don Lee, and Minami Hamabe. Kojima Productions says additional casting announcements will come later.
PHYSINT is being positioned as a new action-espionage project from the creator of the Metal Gear series. Kojima did not announce a release date or platform lineup with the casting news, so those details remain unconfirmed.
The project recently gained a new publishing partner. Xbox will publish PHYSINT as part of an expanded partnership with Kojima Productions, which already includes the upcoming title OD. The companies have also said their broader collaboration will extend into film and television.
What do you hope Bill Skarsgård brings to the lead role in PHYSINT?
