Steam will launch first, with PS5 and Xbox Series X|S versions planned to follow.

What Is Give Us A Sign?

Give Us A Sign on Steam is a psychological horror game built for solo play and online co-op. Investigators enter haunted locations, use specialized equipment, gather evidence, identify the entity behind the activity, and try to survive the case.

The basic structure will be familiar to players of paranormal investigation games, but voice is central to the design. Demir Games is building the haunting to react to player speech and activity, so talking with teammates can be useful and dangerous at the same time.

How Does Give Us A Sign Gameplay Work?

Each investigation begins with preparation. Players select equipment, choose a haunted location, and enter with a plan for finding evidence. Once inside, the team must monitor paranormal activity, work out which entity is present, and respond to escalating supernatural events.

The safe house acts as the between-mission hub. The current Steam description identifies Gianna as the character associated with equipment and preparation, while Oscar scouts haunted locations and helps investigators select a destination. Character customization and a shared wardrobe are also in development, though those systems may continue changing before launch.

Confirmed or officially shown investigation tools include the Ouija Board and Smudge Sticks. Demir Games has also described a broader range of detection equipment, but the full launch inventory has not been finalized publicly.

How Does the Voice-Reactive Horror System Work?

Give Us A Sign uses the player’s microphone as more than a co-op chat channel. Demir Games says paranormal events can respond to what players say, how loudly they speak, and voice activity during an investigation. Speech can attract attention or trigger reactions involving entities, lights, objects, and the surrounding environment.

That creates a practical co-op tension: investigators need to share discoveries and coordinate, but speaking can also change the haunting. The developer is still working on its Dynamic Voice Recognition system, so its final limits, supported voice commands, and language coverage have not been detailed.

What Makes the Horror System Dynamic?

In its official Steam development updates, Demir Games has described several connected systems that remain in development:

  • Dynamic Horror Event System: evaluates factors such as player location, investigation progress, environmental conditions, and paranormal activity before choosing an event.
  • Dynamic Corner Horror System: identifies corridors, blind corners, ceiling edges, and other suitable parts of a map where an encounter can occur.
  • Procedural Entity Adaptation: is intended to help entities adjust their pose and placement to nearby geometry.
  • Dynamic Horror Tension System: increases pressure through sound, object interactions, atmosphere, and paranormal activity instead of relying only on constant jump scares.
  • Possession Event System: is being developed to temporarily affect investigators under certain conditions.
  • Ghost Dragging System: can pull an investigator from their position or toward paranormal activity without necessarily killing them.
  • Dynamic Death Animations: are being designed around the location and supernatural event involved.

Some events can affect the entire team, while others may be visible or experienced by only one player. These are development systems, not a promise that every described interaction will appear unchanged in the final build.

Give Us A Sign Beta and Steam Playtest

Free open-beta sign-ups are available through the Steam Playtest panel. The official November 6 announcement tells players to request access on the game’s Steam page.

  1. Open the Give Us A Sign Steam page.
  2. Find the “Join the Give Us A Sign Playtest” panel.
  3. Select Request Access.
  4. Wait for Steam to notify you when the developer is ready for more participants.

Requesting access is free, but it does not mean the Playtest starts immediately. Demir Games has not announced a public beta start date or end date. This open sign-up process is separate from the earlier limited closed-beta activity tied to the game’s Halloween stream.

When Is the Give Us A Sign Demo?

The public demo is planned for the February 2027 Steam Next Fest. This is the current timing and replaces the older October Steam Next Fest plan. Demir Games said it wanted more time to improve the demo and incorporate community feedback.

Earlier development plans described a demo with a tutorial area, safe house, and one full investigation map. Those are targets rather than final specifications, and the developer can still revise the demo before February.

Give Us A Sign Release Date and Early Access

Demir Games is currently targeting Q2 2027 for the Steam Early Access launch. That means a window from April through June 2027, not a confirmed day. The commercial Steam page still lists Give Us A Sign as “Coming soon.”

Steam Early Access will come first. PlayStation and Xbox versions are planned to follow as soon as possible, but neither console has an exact release date. Development schedules can change, so Q2 2027 should be treated as the current target rather than a guarantee.

How Much Will Give Us A Sign Cost?

Give Us A Sign will have a $19.90 base price for Steam Early Access, PlayStation, and Xbox. The official announcement presents this as one price across the three supported platforms.

Steam will also receive a special launch discount when Early Access begins. Demir Games has not announced the discount percentage or discounted price, and no regional pricing details have been published. The newer price announcement replaces older FAQ information that said the price was still unknown.

PS5, Xbox and Other Platforms

Give Us A Sign is officially announced for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S. The PlayStation Store listing shows a PS5 version with a release date to be determined, one-player support, up to four online players, DualSense vibration and trigger effects, and Game Help.

The Xbox Series X|S version is also officially announced, but it does not have a release date. Steam Early Access is scheduled to launch before both console versions.

There is currently no officially announced Nintendo Switch 2 version. VR support has not been announced either.

Does Give Us A Sign Support Crossplay?

Yes. Demir Games has officially announced full crossplay across supported platforms. That replaces an older Steam FAQ in which cross-platform play was only described as a development goal.

Crossplay will become relevant as the PlayStation and Xbox versions launch after Steam. Technical details, account requirements, cross-platform party tools, and cross-progression have not been explained.

Solo and Multiplayer Explained

Steam lists both single-player and online co-op support. You can investigate alone or form a team of up to four players. The PlayStation Store likewise lists one local player and up to four online players.

Voice-reactive mechanics and player-specific paranormal events are designed to make communication important in co-op, but solo play is an officially supported mode rather than an unsupported workaround.

Is Give Us A Sign Like Phasmophobia?

If you are a Phasmophobia fan, the broad setup will be recognizable: both games involve paranormal investigation, evidence gathering, supernatural entities, ghost identification, and co-op play. Calling Give Us A Sign a clone would ignore the features Demir Games is using to distinguish it.

The developer has pointed to deeper voice-reactive gameplay, folklore-influenced entities, unusual investigation tools, modular horror events, player-specific scares, possession, and ghost dragging as parts of its intended identity. Whether those systems create a meaningfully different experience will be easier to judge once the Playtest and public demo are available.

Ghosts, Maps and Replayability

Demir Games has said it is planning around 20 paranormal entities, with eight intended for the Steam Next Fest demo. These remain development targets, not a final guaranteed count. Entities are intended to differ through their evidence, behavior, strengths and weaknesses, paranormal events, hunting patterns, and folklore.

The current development plan points to three investigation locations for Early Access, alongside a tutorial area and expanded safe house. Earlier updates named the Abandoned House, Carnival, and Motel as the three planned investigation settings. The demo was previously scoped around one full investigation map plus its tutorial and safe house. Final map counts can still change.

Replayability is being built around modular event rules, entity behavior, voice interaction, player-specific scares, and environmental conditions. That should create variation between cases, but it is more accurate to describe this as a design goal than to promise unlimited or infinite replayability.

Steam has not published a storage capacity in GB. The store page also does not show an official Steam Deck compatibility rating, so Steam Deck support remains unverified. The PS5 listing confirms DualSense features, but the current Steam feature list does not provide a broader PC controller-support guarantee.

Season Pass: Extending the Sign

The Steam page currently references a planned Season Pass: Extending the Sign, with future regions, entities, and allies. Demir Games has not announced its price, release date, number of content drops, edition structure, or exact schedule.
