To reach 100% completion in Phantom Blade Zero, finish every region and Side Tale, collect the permanent upgrades and regional archive entries, defeat the optional bosses, obtain the weapons and Phantom Edges, complete all challenge locations, and satisfy the True Ending path before its cutoffs. Most ordinary collectibles remain available in post-story free-roam, but several Side Tales can fail when the story advances. Use the game’s 20 manual save slots and keep a save at the start and end of every region.
The launch-state master checklist documents 564 collectible locations across nine story-order areas, plus 30 tracked Side Tale entries. That master total consists of 161 Bells, 42 weapon and Phantom Edge location entries, 80 accessories and medicine entries, 13 challenge locations, 40 Sha-Chi Amber Shards, 40 Blackstone Shards, 129 Memory Flowers, 43 Tempering Materials and 16 Treasures. Those are checklist entries, not necessarily the game’s complete inventory totals. S-GAME’s own pre-launch count says the wider arsenal includes more than 30 main weapons and 25 Phantom Edges, so do not treat “42” as a definitive weapon count.
This guide focuses on completion. For release details, editions, platforms and PC requirements, see our Phantom Blade Zero Complete FAQ. PC players preparing a new install can also check our report on the 300 GB free-space requirement for the preload process.

Important missable warning
The safest rule is simple: finish every available Tale and speak to every NPC before leaving a region. Check the Journal after major story events; failed quests are shown in red. Most Bells, shards, Memory Flowers, treasures, challenge locations and ordinary equipment can be cleaned up later, but failed NPC questlines cannot be repaired in free-roam.
- Weeping Creek Valley: complete the first objective of A Severed Mindseal as soon as possible. Purge the Sect and Festering Secrets fail after the Crimson Forest main boss. Finish Apprentice Healer before Jing Ye.
- Crimson Forest: finish A Healer’s Mercy and Honor Among Thieves before Bai Chilian. Accept Secrets of the Baishan Sect before that fight. Bring the Flesh Lily to Yu’er before her chain advances.
- Village of Lu: accept The Journey Home and Young Master Lan, then complete their first objectives before entering Pangzhen.
- Mandate Encampment: after defeating Wu Lengshuang, inspect the body in the flower field before defeating Yubi or Secrets of the Baishan Sect fails.
- Before Mirage Estate: finish the purple-icon quests required for the True Ending. The game warns you when you try to enter with requirements outstanding.
- Mount Soulrend: The Last Chance Bell is a temporary point of no return. You must finish the ending sequence before returning to the world, although post-story free-roam then reopens for non-missable cleanup.
Recommended 100% roadmap
- Clear each region’s available Tales first. Talk to every NPC, revisit them after boss fights and keep manual saves before leaving.
- Collect permanent upgrades while progressing. Prioritize Memory Flowers, Sha-Chi Amber Shards and Blackstone Shards because they improve health, Sha-Chi and damage.
- Defeat optional bosses. Most named weapons and many Phantom Edges come from bosses, and several optional encounters feed the trophy/achievement list.
- Unlock traversal Phantom Edges. Bastion, Flaming Mane, Bashpole, Tiger Cannon and the Illusory Pipa open routes that were blocked on the first visit.
- Finish the purple-icon True Ending chain before Mirage Estate. Complete Bloodline Awakening’s fifth Long Pillar afterward, then finish any remaining Tale before Mount Soulrend.
- Clean up the map before New Game+. After the ending, resume free-roam for remaining Bells, flowers, shards, treasures, challenges, weapons and tempering. Failed Tales still require an earlier save or another playthrough.
Region-by-region 100% checklist
The regional “route entry” numbers below come from launch walkthrough pages and should not be added together as if they were the 564-category master total. Regional pages also count Tale steps, boss rewards and cleanup interactions differently, while Mirage Estate shares Pangzhen’s map progress.
| Region | Completion snapshot | Do before moving on |
|---|---|---|
| 1. Weeping Creek Valley | 60 route entries; 23 Bells; 7 weapon/Phantom Edge entries; 4 Amber; 4 Blackstone; 1 Memory Flower | Complete A Severed Mindseal’s first step early. Finish Purge the Sect and Festering Secrets before the Crimson Forest boss. Start Apprentice Healer and secure the Flesh Lily. |
| 2. Crimson Forest | 83 route entries; 19 Bells; 6 weapon/Phantom Edge entries; 6 Amber; 6 Blackstone; 18 Memory Flowers; 3 Treasures | Finish Honor Among Thieves and A Healer’s Mercy. Accept Secrets of the Baishan Sect before defeating Bai Chilian. Rescue Quick Hand Zhang. |
| 3. Village of Lu | 76 route entries; 22 Bells; 7 weapon/Phantom Edge entries; 4 Amber; 4 Blackstone; 16 Memory Flowers; 3 Treasures | Accept The Journey Home and Young Master Lan, then complete their first objectives before entering Pangzhen. Some late pickups require Flaming Mane, Bashpole or Tiger Cannon. |
| 4. Pangzhen | The Pangzhen map tracker covers 161 entries across lower Pangzhen and the later Mirage Estate return | Meet Myst to unlock Soul Tempering. Progress Old Man Gen, Young Master Lan, Quick Hand Zhang and the True Ending chains before entering Mirage Estate. |
| 5. Mandate Encampment | 60 route entries; 17 Bells; 4 weapon/Phantom Edge entries; 4 Amber; 4 Blackstone; 19 Memory Flowers | For Secrets of the Baishan Sect, inspect the body in the flower field after Wu Lengshuang and before defeating Yubi. The Red encounter can affect two drops. |
| 6. Meigu Lake | 84 route entries; 22 Bells; 5 weapon/Phantom Edge entries; 6 Amber; 6 Blackstone; 30 Memory Flowers | Much of the lake is optional but required for True Ending preparation. Complete lake Memory Flower chains, acquire the Illusory Pipa and continue Bloodline Awakening. |
| 7. Mountain of Imprisonment | 32 route entries; 8 Bells; 5 weapon/Phantom Edge entries; 4 Amber; 4 Blackstone; 6 Memory Flowers | This optional True Ending area opens after repairing the Illusory Pipa. Finish its Tales, optional bosses and tempering rewards before moving on. |
| 8. Mirage Estate / Pangzhen return | Counted inside Pangzhen’s map progress, but separated in the Archive and story order | Before entering, clear all purple-icon requirements listed by the game. Finish the five Mirage Estate treasures and collect Tiger Cannon before cleanup routes. |
| 9. Mount Soulrend | 17 route entries; 8 Bells; 3 weapon entries; 6 Memory Flowers | The Last Chance Bell is the temporary point of no return. Save manually, finish the True Ending setup, then proceed. Free-roam returns after the ending. |
What every collectible does
Memory Flowers
Memory Flowers appear as blue memory fragments, usually in groups of two to six. Completing a flower reveals story context and permanently raises Soul’s health; the increase varies with the flower group. The master route tracks 129 flower locations. The PS5 trophy only asks for 10 completed flowers, but full map completion requires far more.
Sha-Chi Amber Shards
Four Sha-Chi Amber Shards combine into a complete Amber that increases Soul’s Sha-Chi capacity by 10%. The checklist tracks 40 shards, enough for ten completed Ambers.
Blackstone Shards
Four Blackstone Shards combine into a Blackstone that permanently increases damage by 10%. The checklist tracks 40 shards.
Bells
Bells are the game’s rest and fast-travel points. Activating all 161 makes later cleanup much faster and gives you reliable return points for NPCs, locked doors and traversal-gated pickups.
Tempering Materials
After meeting Myst in Pangzhen, you can Soul Temper weapons and Phantom Edges. Each item can be tempered once and uses its own unique material, so the 43 tracked Tempering Materials are part of the completion route. Standard level upgrades are separate and can be reforged to recover materials, as S-GAME explained in its official combat overview.
Treasures
The 16 Treasures are chiefly tied to Quick Hand Zhang’s regional requests: three in Crimson Forest, three in Village of Lu, four in Pangzhen, four in Meigu Lake and three in Mirage Estate. One Mirage Estate chest inside the Opera House is safest to collect during the first pass because the route can close afterward.
Challenge Locations
The 13 challenge locations include Long Pillars, Banyan Trees, scarecrows and other combat trials. Five Long Pillars complete Bloodline Awakening, while five Banyan Trees complete Heart of the Banyan. They are important for the True Ending and platform achievements even when the map itself does not require every challenge for a trophy.
Weapons and Phantom Edges completion reference
Most weapons are earned by defeating the boss who demonstrates them, a design S-GAME detailed in its official boss-weapon feature. Phantom Edges also work as traversal tools, so a late acquisition can unlock earlier barriers. The table groups the known launch-route acquisitions without turning the guide into a ranking.
| Region | Weapons / Phantom Edges | How obtained | Missable note |
|---|---|---|---|
| Weeping Creek Valley | Sanguine Twin; Jagged Steel; Sanguine Reach | World pickups or early boss rewards | No known lockout for the weapons themselves |
| Weeping Creek Valley | Dread Axe; Feather Bow; Hunter’s Chain Sickle | Boss/encounter rewards; Feather Bow depends on an early missable setup | Feather Bow can be missed |
| Weeping Creek Valley | Scarlet Wraithblade | Defeat optional boss Hua, Deadly Betrothed | Boss remains optional; also collect the Flesh Lily |
| Crimson Forest | The Fanatic’s Broken Blade; Outlaw Warblade | Defeat Hua Qianxiao and Jing Ye | No |
| Crimson Forest | Flying Dagger; Iron Gauntlets | Boss rewards | No |
| Crimson Forest | White Serpent & Crimson Viper | Defeat Bai Chilian | Story-related |
| Village of Lu | Bastion; Tianxuan Bronze Sword | Story/boss progression | No |
| Village of Lu | Kuye Temple Prayer Beads; Puppeteer’s Bell; Heartrend Pipa | Optional routes and bosses | No, but later access may be required |
| Village of Lu | Fiend Saws; Wild Oriole Sword | Late-region encounter rewards | Yes, the associated encounter window is missable |
| Pangzhen | Fire Meteor; Armybreaker; Wolfjaw; You Loong’s Deluge | Story and optional boss rewards | No |
| Pangzhen | Thunder Spear; Goldblaze; Flaming Mane; Parting Hooks | Boss rewards, Quick Hand Zhang and repaired dormant weapon | Some depend on NPC/quest progress |
| Mandate Encampment | Bashpole; Swordsman’s Summon | Boss/encounter rewards | Swordsman’s Summon is affected by the Red encounter state |
| Mandate Encampment | Soft Snake Sword; Baishan Stormswords | Defeat Wu Lengshuang and Yubi | Baishan tale progress must be handled before Yubi |
| Meigu Lake | Sundering Dual Axes; War Wagon; Loong Trident; One-Eyed Bow | Optional bosses, exploration and Old Man Gen’s completed Tale | War Wagon depends on The Journey Home |
| Meigu Lake | Illusory Pipa | Repair the Heartrend Pipa through its quest chain | Required for northern mist routes and True Ending progression |
| Mountain of Imprisonment | Juggernaut; Seamless Death; Whiteshadow | Optional bosses and quest progression | Area itself is optional |
| Mountain of Imprisonment | Ink Cut; Flying Guillotine; Inanis’ Radiant Fan | Tale rewards and late optional encounters | Finish the associated Tales |
| Mirage Estate / cleanup | Crescent Blade; Tiger Cannon; Freezing Chaos | Story/optional bosses and late backtracking | Tiger Cannon unlocks breakable-wall cleanup |
| Mount Soulrend | Bonesaw; The Lady’s Fan; Aureate | Late bosses; Aureate is on the True Ending route | Aureate requires the True Ending path |
For tempering, treat each weapon and Phantom Edge as having its own material rather than assuming one generic upgrade item. Important examples include Alloyed Scythe Blade for a Weeping Creek Valley cleanup reward, Song of Parting in Crimson Forest, Hero’s Courage in the Mandate chain, Old Wooden Comb for War Wagon, Enhanced Chainsaw for Flying Guillotine, Pigeon Feed for Tiger Cannon and the late boss materials in Mount Soulrend.
Side Tales and ending-critical quests
The game’s Journal contains more quest entries than a simple map counter can express. The launch master checklist counts 30 Side Tale entries, while multi-region quest chains can appear across several areas. The table below covers the missable, trophy/achievement, weapon, permanent-reward and True Ending chains a 100% run must protect.

True Ending requirements
Spoiler warning: the following section names ending requirements and late-game areas, but avoids major story details.
Phantom Blade Zero has a Normal Ending and a True Ending. The True Ending replaces the normal route when all requirements are met, and it awards With Heart and Blood. The Normal Ending has no separate trophy or achievement, so a completion run can earn every PS5 trophy in one playthrough by preparing the True Ending.
Before entering Mirage Estate through the Green Serpent House, complete the purple-icon quest chain: Deep in the Valley, Illusion of Inanis, Sha-Chi Powered Boat, Allure of Vanity, Illusory Pipa, Pillars of Kunlun, Whence the Weeping, The Herald’s Illusion, Crimson Manor and Secrets at the Heart of the Lake. After entering Mirage Estate, finish Bloodline Awakening by clearing all five Long Pillars. The game issues a warning at the Mirage Estate cutoff if required quests remain.
At Mount Soulrend’s The Last Chance Bell, make a manual save and confirm that Bloodline Awakening and the other purple-icon quests are complete. Passing the Bell locks you into the final sequence until an ending is finished. If the True Ending setup is complete, an additional late encounter becomes available after the normal final boss.
PS5 trophy and Steam achievement roadmap
PS5 trophies
The PS5 list has 36 trophies: one Platinum, three Gold, 14 Silver and 18 Bronze. All are offline, difficulty does not affect them, and the launch roadmap estimates roughly 30 to 40 hours on an easy completion route. Seven are flagged missable: With Heart and Blood, Forbidden Arts Beneath the Lake, The Last of Baishan, Together Till the End, A Wanderer’s Honor, Spectral Blade and The Healer’s Legacy.
You do not need every one of the 564 tracked locations for the Platinum. The trophy list instead samples the completion systems: 10 Memory Flowers, 30 accessories, tempering 10 weapons and 10 Phantom Edges, maxing one weapon and one Phantom Edge, completing key Tales, and defeating the required optional bosses. A 100% map run goes beyond the Platinum requirements.
Steam achievements
Steam’s official achievement page lists 66 achievements, substantially more than the 36-item PS5 trophy set. It includes the shared story, quest, boss and upgrade goals plus additional weapon-specific combat achievements. Steam uses achievements and has no PlayStation Platinum trophy, even though its “Defy Destiny” achievement similarly asks players to unlock the others.
Use the official Steam achievement page for the current PC list. Do not use a PS5 trophy count as the Steam total.
Best cleanup order after the story
- Resume the completed save instead of starting New Game+ immediately.
- Check the Journal for any Tale still active. A failed Tale needs an earlier manual save or New Game+.
- Activate missing Bells so every cleanup route is easy to revisit.
- Finish remaining Memory Flowers, Sha-Chi Amber Shards and Blackstone Shards.
- Use Bastion, Flaming Mane, Bashpole, Tiger Cannon and the Illusory Pipa on previously blocked routes.
- Defeat optional bosses and collect their weapons or Phantom Edges.
- Complete Long Pillars, Banyan Trees and other challenge locations.
- Collect all 16 Treasures and turn in Quick Hand Zhang’s requests.
- Gather the 43 Tempering Materials, then Soul Temper the weapons and Phantom Edges required by your platform list.
- Check PS5 trophies or Steam achievements separately and finish platform-specific combat tasks.
Frequently Asked Questions
How many collectibles are in Phantom Blade Zero?
The launch master checklist tracks 564 collectible locations: 161 Bells, 42 weapon/Phantom Edge entries, 80 accessories/medicine entries, 13 challenges, 40 Sha-Chi Amber Shards, 40 Blackstone Shards, 129 Memory Flowers, 43 Tempering Materials and 16 Treasures. It separately tracks 30 Side Tale entries.
Are there missable collectibles in Phantom Blade Zero?
Most map collectibles remain available in post-story free-roam, but some NPC rewards, encounter drops and a Mirage Estate treasure can be missed. Side Tales are the main lockout risk.
Are Side Tales missable?
Yes. Several Side Tales fail after specific bosses or regional transitions, especially in Weeping Creek Valley, Crimson Forest and Village of Lu.
Can you return to previous regions?
Yes. Bells support fast travel and the completed save allows post-story free-roam, but returning later cannot restore a Tale that already failed.
How many weapons are in Phantom Blade Zero?
S-GAME says the game contains more than 30 main weapons. The 42-item launch checklist combines weapon and Phantom Edge location entries, so it is not a reliable main-weapon total.
How many Phantom Edges are there?
S-GAME’s official pre-launch overview says there are 25 Phantom Edges. Location checklists use a different counting method because some entries combine items or describe acquisition events.
How many Memory Flowers are there?
The master 100% route tracks 129 Memory Flower locations or groups. Individual flowers can contain multiple fragments.
What do Sha-Chi Amber Shards do?
Four shards combine into a complete Amber that raises Soul’s Sha-Chi capacity by 10%.
What do Blackstone Shards do?
Four shards combine into a complete Blackstone that permanently raises damage by 10%.
Can Phantom Blade Zero be completed in one playthrough?
Yes. The PS5 Platinum and the True Ending can be earned in one playthrough if you complete the missable Tales and ending requirements before their cutoffs.
Is there a point of no return?
Yes, but it is temporary. Passing The Last Chance Bell in Mount Soulrend locks you into the final sequence; free-roam returns after the ending. The earlier Mirage Estate gate is the important True Ending quest cutoff.
Does difficulty affect trophies?
No. The PS5 trophies can be earned on any difficulty.
How many trophies does Phantom Blade Zero have?
Phantom Blade Zero has 36 PS5 trophies, including the Platinum.
How many Steam achievements does Phantom Blade Zero have?
Steam lists 66 achievements at launch.
Does Phantom Blade Zero have a True Ending?
Yes. Complete the purple-icon quest chain before Mirage Estate, finish Bloodline Awakening’s five Long Pillars, and enter the final sequence with the requirements satisfied.
This guide reflects launch-state information verified as of November 1, 2026. Checklist totals and route notes may change if post-launch patches alter item placement or quest behavior.
