One game that consistently finds its way back into the spotlight is Red Dead Redemption. With the second installment of the series leaving such a lasting impact, it’s no surprise people are still talking about it. Specifically, I’m referring to Red Dead Redemption 2, which is widely regarded as a true masterpiece! Rockstar Games generated an astounding $725 million in revenue within just three days of its release. Given that it was released eight years after the first game, it’s no surprise that fans became increasingly curious about the series’ future. The mounting excitement prompted Rockstar to release Red Dead Redemption 2 for PC in 2019, a year after its initial PlayStation 4 and Xbox One launch.
After the PC release, fans became convinced that Rockstar had plans for the first game as well. With Red Dead Redemption 2’s massive success, rumors about a remaster of the first game started swirling across the media. And while there were several leaks fueling these rumors, the first game was eventually re-released, though only as an update to make it playable on modern consoles. No major changes. After that, things went quiet… until now.
Recently, a user on X (formerly Twitter), going by TezFunz2, claimed that he discovered a leak through a Rockstar launcher update. He even backed up his claim with a screenshot, suggesting that Rockstar accidentally included data hinting at a possible PC version of the first game in the update files. And this isn’t the only clue. Rumors have been floating around about the game popping up in the Steam database, along with other leaks…like mentions on the Epic Games Store and a brief appearance on PlayStation Network…pointing toward a PC release.
That’s all we have for now. If Red Dead Redemption 2’s PC port in 2019 is anything to go by, these leaks might just be onto something. Stay tuned for more updates!
