The Lord of The Rings MMORPG Canceled By Amazon
Amazon cancels The Lord of The Rings MMORPG project that was announced back in 2019. The game was in development at Amazon Game Studios and Leyou Technologies Holdings Ltd, which was later acquired by Tencent Holdings Ltd.
The reason behind this decision comes from the disagreement between Amazon and Tencent. A spokesperson from Amazon has made a statement on the matter. They said it had “been unable to secure terms to proceed with this title at this time.”
“We love the Lord of the Rings IP, and are disappointed that we won’t be bringing this game to customers,” the quotes moved on.
This is sad news to hear about the title, I hope we can see a new project in the future. It might be unlikely, but I won’t lose hope.
