Take-Two Interactive has shared some news with fans about the next-gen remaster of GTA V. It is described as an “expanded and enhanced” version of the game, but we don’t know what features make the remaster that way yet. Take-Two Interactive CEO Strauss Zelnick stated that it’s more than a simple port job.
“I’m not sure they’ll be a bigger part of the strategy. Remastering has always been a part of the strategy,” Zelnick said about the company’s view on remasters. “What we’ve done differently than the competition is we don’t just port titles over. We actually take the time to do the very best job we can making the title different for the new release for the new technology that we’re launching it on.”
According to him, the quality of products in their remasters is what makes their remastered titles sell well. And we can already see that they are good at the job, you could exclude last year’s Mafia 2 remastered from this though, which didn’t get that much praise.
Back to GTA, Zelnick said that he’s “confident” that Rockstar is going to “deliver a great experience” that is more than just a “simple port”. We do not have any further details or comments on the matter as of now.
