PlayStation has announced their next-gen PlayStation VR headset, we don’t know the name of it for sure. Also, don’t get your hopes up just yet, because it’s not coming this year.
Sony confirmed that the next-gen PlayStation VR will come to PS5, and it will “connect to PS5 with a single cord to simplify setup and improve ease-of-use while enabling a high-fidelity visual experience”. It is also explained as “a next-gen VR system that enhances everything from resolution and field of view to tracking and input.”
We don’t have any details on the device yet, this includes the pictures, unfortunately. With the next-gen PSVR we will no longer have the same controllers that we used to have in PSVR but a new one that will pair with the next-gen one. It’s said to have some functions found in the DualSense controller and enhanced ergonomics for the user.
Unfortunately, “There’s still a lot of development underway for our new VR system, so it won’t be launching in 2021,” says in the blog post, “But we wanted to provide this early update to our fans, as the development community has started to work on creating new worlds for you to explore in virtual reality.”
There is no official name for this next-gen PlayStation VR headset, but we will probably get some details on it by the end of the year. We already saw some news about the headset coming but this is the first time we see it as official. One of the new features coming with it seems to be the spectators’ influence on the game, we will let you know when new details arrive.
