Half-Life 2 Mod Lambda Wars Leaves Beta After 13 Years!
The strategy game mod for Half-Life 2, ”Lambda Wars” leaves beta after 13 years, and finally, it’s available in Steam for you to play. And it is free as well.
Lambda Wars is a free strategy-based mod for multiplayer top-down shooter ”Alien Swarm”, and it will be set in the Half-Life 2 universe. You are able to play as a commander of the Resistance or as an overlord of the Combine if you want.
Valve gave permission to use the Half-Life franchise to the Vortal Storm, the modders of the game. And this means we will see every character and logo from Half-Life 2 without worrying about copyrighted stuff.
We need to remember that this project started in 2007, which means people were working hard for this mod for 13 years. One of the modders Pandango-r explained “It has been one hell of a journey and hopefully it will bring some joy to Half-Life and RTS players. We’ve had discussions about finding forms of funding, but ultimately we decided to keep it as a passion project. Many developers have come and gone, but the lead programmer started and finished the project. It never ceases to amaze me how much work he’s put into the game!” in a Reddit post.
