It has been a quite while since the last time we heard the name Gears of War. But recently, the games chief of Microsoft, Phil Spencer mentioned that name, along with others, in an interview with The Verge.
The main subject of this article is mainly about the Xbox Game Pass subscription. But it also includes a couple of interesting details. Phil Spencer says: “Sea of Thieves will be the first title available on launch day, March 20th, through the Xbox Games Pass, and that will “follow through with State of Decay 2, Crackdown 3, and the rest of our portfolio,” and he adds: “Not just those games, but our future Halos, our future Gears of War, future Forzas, and other games. Our plan is to launch those to our Game Pass subscribers at the same time they go to retail.”
This statement has two important outcomes: One is the fact that Microsoft wants to broaden the limits of the Xbox Game Pass; second: There will probably be new titles like Gears of War in the future.
We still don’t know exactly what’s going to happen of course. The only thing we need is an official confirmation about Gears of War itself. But I am pretty sure that we will have it pretty soon.
Also, another detail which catches the eye is what Spencer said after he was asked about Game Pass being not available for PC users (that is, Windows 10 users): “I have been on public record saying I want people to play the games they play on the devices they want to play them on, […] So stay tuned. We’re not announcing anything today other than our biggest games will launch on retail date into Game Pass, but I like your thinking.”
So, even if you are not a huge fan of Gears of War title, this news can be good one for you as you will probably be able to play your Xbox Game Pass games on your PC.
Stay tuned for more!
