Crytek has recently released a video to tell the story behind Hunt: Showdown

Crytek’s biggest project at the moment is going be available soon (hopefully!). And before that happens, developers decided to release a video explaining the story behind the game. And you can see that they had to work so hard to make the game possible again after a ton of problems they endured.

Hunt: Showdown, or at least the initial version of the game, was first revealed as Hunt: Horrors of the Gilded Age. Back then, the game was kind of a replica of Left 4 Dead series where you were supposed to shoot your way through hordes of zombies and enemies. It was more like an action game rather than a co-op/competitive horror game which we can see today. And the sneaking factor was not that important or maybe was not even implemented back then.

Now however, we see a completely different game. It encourages you to take different paths and act differently against other players or your prey. Take a look at the video and you will understand what I am trying to say:

As you can see, Crytek’s USA studio had big problems and closed its doors. In Frankfurt, where the other studio was, they got together to continue working on games. Suddenly, they become a one big studio. After some time, this year in May, they announced that they were working on the game with a different title and different mechanics. Since then, they are working hard on the game and it looks pretty awesome if you ask me. Look at those gameplay scenes… I will definitely give it a go when it comes out.

Unfortunately, we still have no idea about that precise release date. However, you can always go ahead and check out the official website which is by far the best one I’ve ever seen. Play around a little bit, click here and there, and get more information about the game while learning a part of the main story.

When we hear about Hunt: Showdown, we will inform you right away for sure. So, until that time, stay tuned and stay hyped!
