Mount & Blade 2: Bannerlord Has Some New Screenshots

“That which does not kill me, should run.”

Mount & Blade II: Bannerlord is an upcoming medieval action role-playing game by TaleWorlds Entertainment and it is a prequel to the beloved Mount & Blade: Warband.

Mount & Blade series was a huge success since they offered us a great melee combat experience. And, of course, the satisfaction when you crash your enemies and ride horses. Action combat and solid strategy together made Mount & Blade series a great franchise.

Mount & Blade II: Bannerlord is set 200 years before Mount & Blade: Warband and takes place during the decline of the Calradian Empire and the formation of the Kingdoms that appear in the previous games. The armor, weapons and architecture will draw inspiration from 600 to 1100 A.D.

Bannerlord promises at least six major factions and all of them have their own goals to fight for. Along with that, there will be minor factions like mercenaries.

“The Northern, Western, and Southern Empire factions use a balance of heavy cavalry, spearmen, and archers. The Vlandians are a feudal kingdom specializing in heavy cavalry tactics. The Sturgians of the northern forests specialize in axe and sword equipped infantry. The Aserai of the southern desert are adept at both cavalry and infantry tactics. The Khuzait of the eastern steppe specialize in ranged cavalry. The Battanians of the central woodlands specialize in ambushes with archers from the trees.”

But what about the graphics, you say. Well, graphics have been significantly improved. Bannerlord uses motion capture technology for character animations and facial animations are also improved. The game has better shading and higher detail models. A new inventory inteface is added to the game along with a better artificial intelligence. Additional tactics are now available during sieges. You now know what is new and you are ready to see the new screenshots of Bannerlord.

Look at all the horses! These horses will hit your PC sometime in 2007. Enjoy!
