The XBOX Nano Controller will launch in November for $49.99, giving Xbox players a smaller, lighter controller designed for younger players, smaller hands and portable play. Preorders are open now.

At a little over five inches long and 3.5 ounces, Xbox says the Nano is its smallest controller and is both shorter and lighter than most modern smartphones. Despite the reduced size, it retains all 18 standard gameplay inputs and a familiar Xbox-style layout.

The controller has a rechargeable battery and a programmable Action Button. Players can map that button to screenshots, gameplay capture or other frequently used shortcuts. Xbox Wireless and Bluetooth support allow it to connect to a range of compatible devices.

According to the official Xbox Wire announcement, November availability covers the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, Japan, South Korea, Mexico, Brazil and numerous European, Asian and Latin American markets, with more markets planned later. Local pricing and availability may vary.

Xbox is also pairing the controller with two US holiday offers. Buyers of select Samsung TVs can receive an XBOX Nano Controller and two months of Game Pass Ultimate for new members, while a separate Meta Quest promotion includes the same controller and subscription offer.

Would the XBOX Nano Controller’s smaller size make it a better fit for how or where you play?
