Microsoft and TCL are bringing the Xbox app to select TCL smart TVs in the coming months, allowing players to stream supported games without connecting an Xbox console.
Xbox says the rollout will reach millions of TCL TV owners across more than 25 countries. The companies have not yet identified the eligible TV models, supported markets, or a firm launch date.
TCL says the app will arrive in phases through a future software update. Availability and features will vary by model, market, network conditions, and the player’s subscription or game entitlement.
Players will need a supported TCL smart TV, a compatible controller, and cloud playtime included with Xbox Game Pass or purchased separately. A stable internet connection is also required. Eligible Game Pass members will be able to stream supported games from the service’s cloud library directly through the TV app.
Microsoft says Xbox profiles, friends, achievements, and cloud saves will carry across supported TVs, consoles, and PCs. The TCL partnership expands the Xbox TV app beyond its existing availability on selected Samsung, LG, Hisense, VIDAA OS, and Amazon Fire TV devices.
