Vince Zampella Confirms Next Battlefield Returns to Modern Setting

Vince Zampella has confirmed that the next Battlefield game will return to a modern setting, following stints in WWI, WWII, and the near future. The game is described as a return to the “core” of what made Battlefield 3 and 4 successful, with a focus on smaller, well-designed maps and the removal of the controversial Specialist system from Battlefield 2042. New concept art hints at ship-to-ship and helicopter combat, as well as natural disasters like wildfires. The game is currently in full production and will likely release in 2025.
