Squadron 42 now has an official Steam store page listing a Q2 2027 release window and a 150 GB storage requirement. The page is live for wishlists, although it states that the game is not yet available.
The official Steam listing names Cloud Imperium Games Ltd and Cloud Imperium Games Texas LLC as developers. Roberts Space Industries International Ltd and Roberts Space Industries LLC are listed as publishers.
Cloud Imperium describes Squadron 42 as a cinematic single-player space adventure in which players enlist as a UEE Navy rookie. The campaign will move between fighter cockpits, capital ships, space stations, frontier outposts and the front lines of a wider conflict, mixing ship combat with on-foot action.
Squadron 42 minimum PC requirements
The currently listed minimum specifications require Windows 11, 16 GB of RAM and a DirectX 11.1-compatible graphics card with 8 GB of VRAM. The processor line calls for a quad-core Intel i7 from the Sandy Bridge generation or later, or an AMD Bulldozer processor or later.
The page also specifies DirectX 12, a broadband internet connection and 150 GB of available storage. A 64-bit processor and operating system are required. Steam’s recommended section presently contains only that 64-bit requirement, suggesting the store specifications are not yet complete.
Steam lists single-player support, achievements, Steam Cloud, HDR and Family Sharing. It also says a Roberts Space Industries account will be required, with support for linking that account to Steam.
The Q2 2027 timing is a release window rather than a fixed launch date and could still change before release. Cloud Imperium has not attached a specific day or price to the listing, so those details remain unconfirmed.
Does the Q2 2027 Steam listing make Squadron 42 feel closer to release for you?
