Saros Zenith Update Adds New Game+, Boss Rush and More

Saros has received its free Zenith update on PlayStation 5, adding a New Game+ structure, an eight-boss gauntlet, new difficulty modifiers, accessibility options, trophies and more.

Housemarque detailed the update on PlayStation Blog, confirming that it is available to all owners at no additional charge from October 19.

Eclipse Layers bring New Game+ to Saros

Zenith’s New Game+ mode is called Eclipse Layers. After finishing the game, players can unlock progressively tougher versions of Carcosa through new Armor Matrix nodes. Each layer requires a chosen mix of Carcosan Modifiers before the run begins, letting players decide which risks they want to combine.

The update adds 10 Protection Modifiers that make the campaign more forgiving and 10 Trial Modifiers designed to raise the challenge. Housemarque says there are now 25 Trials available in Eclipse Layers. Higher Modifier Balance levels also change Arjun’s appearance with a growing crown and golden armor glow, while 12 new Visions add story material that becomes readable at higher crown levels.

Overlord Rush adds a boss-rush leaderboard

Overlord Rush is a new timed mode accessed from the Primary Unit in Passage. Its Incursion and Ascension sets each feature three Overlords, while the Totality set strings together all eight bosses. Online leaderboards can be filtered by main weapon, though an internet connection and PlayStation account are required.

Zenith also adds Slow Game Speed, which can activate automatically in combat or be toggled manually, plus auto-fire when aiming at a hostile. Motion-sensor aiming joins the control options, while the update adds new trophies and other refinements.
