SAG-AFTRA Video Game Workers Strike Over AI Protections

SAG-AFTRA video game actors are striking for fair compensation and informed consent regarding AI use of their likenesses, following over a year of failed negotiations with companies like EA, Disney, and Take-Two. The union demands protection for performers’ faces, voices, and bodies in AI applications, echoing past entertainment industry strikes. This strike could potentially delay highly anticipated games like Take-Two’s Grand Theft Auto 6. Despite nearing an agreement, companies express disappointment over the strike. Games in production since late last year will remain unaffected.
